third and last stage of his return to music on a few discs highlights of the year. Programme: the sparkling folk, garage-pop and supercharged discovery French talented!
- Siskiyou, Siskiyou (Constellation Records): Decidedly, the year 2010 has been good on the side of Montreal's Constellation label and brings a real lie to all those who glosent the decline of the label and its difficulty in renewing its productions ... Newcomer Siskiyou is in line with recent label: a raw folk and elegantly arranged with sobriety and an undeniable talent. Music that evokes the great desert spaces, somewhere at sunset Street (Siskiyou is the name of a wild mountainous region north of California). In my humble opinion, the best folk album of the year ... Below, I suggest you listen to the song "Never ever ever ever again":
- PRINCE Miiaou , Safety first (self-produced) : first true album (self-produced, which deserves attention ...) Prince Miiaou (after an EP of the same name), Safety first is a true success. To put it a little world, these songs are quite dark (often in English, sometimes in French) may evoke some very good references in the genre as Mansfield Tya or Laetitia Sheriff. A new album is expected to arrive in 2011 and I am one of those await with great curiosity! For now, I suggest you listen to "our tale", the first track on this disc, below:
- HARLEM, Hippies (Female Fantasy / Matador Records): Harlem, is the whiff of good spirits and positive energy of the year, a hard garage rock / pop directly connected to 10,000 volts, the kind of album that makes you want to kick in all directions. Ideal for wrapping up this small retrospective. As I mentioned recently in more detail on this blog (it was here, with two pieces by listening: http://seul-avec-vous.blogspot.com/2010/12/la-chanson-de-la -Week-34-gay-human.html ), I do not dwell too much on the subject and am glad to offer you a third track ("friendly ghost") extracts on this disc:
