The Decline of Western Civilization, Penelope Spheeris of [ Documentary]

I referred to yesterday on my show on the California punk scene of the late 1970s ( podcast available here), the documentary by Penelope Spheeris, The Decline of Western civilization. In this film, the filmmaker follows several major groups in this scene she filmed in concert and meeting places in their life, between December 1979 and May 1980, in Los Angeles. Plus many more songs with live footage of Black Flag, X, The Germs , Circle Jerks and others, we see including Black Flag and the amazing place where they lived ("the church"), the group X in full tattoo session, Darby Crash (Germs of) playing with a tarantula on his arm and ruin the pieces of her band on stage (too drunk to sing) the manager of the latter group explaining how his job is a hell or premises of the famous fanzine Slash . If you are interested in this scene, this film is a must.
